[email protected]

Senior Steward: Janet Tackley [email protected]

Steward: Chris Gibson

Time of Worship: Sundays at 10:30am (2nd Sunday is Holy Communion)

The Pirton Methodist Church is a friendly congregation of people who are drawn to the life of Jesus and who look for signs of God’s presence in the world today. Each week a different person or team of people inspire and lead the church in worship.
A number of worshippers are Members and share responsibility for the running of the church. Janet Tackley is Senior Steward, Chris Gibson is Steward and Ian Brakenbury is Treasurer.

The Minister, Jacob Donkoh is also minister of Christchurch in Hitchin and is frequently in the village and leads a monthly communion, usually on the second Sunday of the month. The Village Carol Service is held at the Chapel on the Sunday nearest Christmas at 4pm.

We also house the village library, adult and children’s books. Come and choose a book any Friday or Saturday, when the Chapel Tearoom is open.

USE OF OUR BUILDING

Our chapel is one of 2 churches in Pirton. We are both here for the whole community for weddings, funerals, and christenings. You don’t have to be a member to have a ceremony at chapel. The Chapel is registered for same sex weddings, and we especially welcome members of the LGBTQI community.

We provide a venue for the “Chapel Tearoom” on Fridays and Saturdays which has been a great success. We love welcoming local people to our beautiful chapel for a drink or a meal, on their own or with friends.

The building has been used for other community events such as history exhibitions, musical evenings, archaeology talks, and  WildaboutPirton’s regular talks. Various community groups meetings here such as the the Bury Trust, Hammonds Charity and has been used for the Parish Council’s Community Action Day.

The space behind the Chapel has been transformed into a beautiful community garden, a place where local people can meet and chat, sit and contemplate, or just enjoy the peace of a small, quiet spot.

The Chapel is a beautiful, listed building and it to be a real community hub. We have the usual facilities and very fast WIFI so if you would like to use the building, please contact….. Janet Tackley    [email protected]
